Ask Jameson

What does Jameson do?
We improve practices, just like yours, through comprehensive coaching. So, what does that mean, you might ask. Well, we have the capability and expertise to work with you and your team on all aspects of your practice, from scheduling to marketing to clinical efficiency. We customize a program just for you, creating the right path for you and your practice to get where you want to be, implementing the necessary skills at the right time in order to gain the right results for you. This is what we consider a comprehensive approach to improving your practice. So tell me, where do you want to go with your practice?
Jameson does "comprehensive coaching". We look at where the practice is now, what your goals are for the practice and then how can we help you improve the practice. Giving you an "optimal treatment plan" based on the practice needs and your goals we work with you in defining the areas (or systems) that need to be focused on first in order to take the practice to the next level. So, tell me about your practice......
Your tag line is “Smile! We can help you get there!” So, where are you going to help me get to?
Anywhere you want your practice to be. Nothing we do is “cookie cutter.” Everything is tailored specifically to your needs and your goals.
I’m really motivated to do something but don’t know how to get started. How do you work?
We begin with a Comprehensive Office Evaluation. Your C.O.E. is a process where you will receive an in-office review of your practice through interviews with you and your team, evaluation of the practice and current systems and the identification of your goals. Then, a treatment plan is designed exclusively for you to move your practice forward! Tell me, does that sound interesting to you? It’s free to give us a call at 877.369.5558 so we can walk you through the simple process and learn more about you and whether there might be a fit.
* What is a C.O.E.?
The comprehensive office evaluation involves one of our diagnostic coaches coming into your practice to take the temperature of your practice, very comparable to your New Patient Exam. Your coach will spend one evening at dinner getting to know you, your vision, your goals, what your expectations are of us - getting to know you and your practice. The next day, your coach will spend the day in the practice meeting the team, auditing the charts, observing your practice up and running, gathering information to help assess the practice and develop a strong sense of where you are and where you can go. Then, the coach will present the findings to you; what you are doing well, what you can do better and we can project where we see you going if you work with Jameson. We will present to you the best plan possible and it is your option to accept the entire plan, part of the plan now and part of it later or none of it at all because after all, you are in control. We do all of this in two and a half days (depending on practice size) and we would love to work with you. Does this sound like something you are interested in? How much does that cost? It will depend on you and your practice. Tell me more about your practice and your needs.
How much does Jameson coaching cost?
Just as you would never quote a fee to a patient without seeing the situation within their mouth, we can’t quote a fee without knowing more about the situation within your practice. If we simply ask how many doctors are in your practice and throw out a fee, nobody wins. But, after a short, free conversation with us, we can provide you with a general per day estimate not including expenses…to give you a better idea as you proceed toward your decision to schedule your Comprehensive Office Evaluation – the first step toward your real coaching proposal.

Yes, we have worked with every specialty during our years of coaching: Pediatric, perio, oral surgeons, ortho, endo and even Medicaid only.
How are you different from other consulting companies?

We come to you. We build our entire program around you offering no cookie cutter short-term solutions; but rather long-term system enhancements that work for your practice. We are a “we,” nearly 50 strong, and there’s amazing wealth of knowledge in our shared expertise and availability.

Jameson focuses on comprehensive in-office coaching, we have expertise on team to improve all areas of the practice. You have access to our entire team of experts, including our technology division, marketing division and even ergonomics/HIPPA/OSHA experts. As a coaching company, Jameson is here to help coach you in the process of improving your practice through proven systems and to see the systems implemented for your continued success.

What is the difference between consulting and coaching?
A Many times, consulting can be loads of information piled on and on without any real results. Jameson approaches our systems through a coaching mentality where we are here to help you achieve success on the right path, at the right time with the right results for you. We are on that path with you the entire way.
How does your marketing program work?
We start our marketing process with an External Marketing Action Plan (EMAP), where we look at what you are doing now, what is working for you and other options you have. We do have expertise with websites, logos, branding, etc. and can assist you in implementing those items into your practice as well. An EMAP designs a strategic plan for you and your practice’s marketing efforts. Gathering demographic information, reviewing your past marketing efforts and understanding your goals all are key elements in designing a plan that is workable and effective for you at the right time in your practicing life. By analyzing your current marketing efforts, the demographics of your patient base and the demographics around your practice as well as interviewing your top ten patients, we develop your strategic marketing action plan. Through this, we are looking to see if your mission is clear in the literature you have and congruent throughout all your materials.
Do you fire people?
NO! As your coach, Jameson is interested in helping you maximize the talent you have and helping your environment be a place where the grass isn’t greener anywhere else! We do not come in and fire team members. We will discuss areas of improvement for team members and can give guidance if and when conflicts arise. Almost always, through effective communication coaching, we can reduce your team conflicts and give them the tools to quickly and effectively resolve conflicts when they do arise.
What is Continuous Coaching? Why would I need that?
Once you have invested in your practice, you will find that you will want to protect that investment well into the future. Continuous coaching is ongoing in-office coaching that ensures the systems you and your team worked so hard to implement stay in place and run smoothly together in order for you to see continued growth year after year. It is like hygiene retention, once your office gets to a healthy point, we want to keep you healthy and moving in a positive direction.
Do you have a consultant in my area?
We have coaches all across the country. Your success is our focus and through our COE process, we will match you with the coach that will work best with you and your team and to help you access your best results – regardless of their location! You will have the best coach for your practice coming to work with you and your team! During the COE process, your practice and your goals will be evaluated so that you can be matched with the coach that best fits you, your team, your needs and your desired results. It is based on your needs, location, personality styles, and your team. We want this to work for you so we will put in the person we think will work with you the best and get you the best results. You may even work with more than one coach during your partnership with Jameson…it’s all dependent upon your need. We do whatever it takes to get you where you want to be!
Could Cathy be my coach?
Cathy’s schedule no longer allows her to commit the amount of time necessary to coach practices one-on-one. Therefore, Cathy has selected and trained an extremely qualified group of dental professionals (links to directory) to coach practices. You will work with the coach that is best suited for you, your team and your needs.
I have team conflict and I do not want to be bothered with it. I just need everyone to be happy so I can focus on the dentistry.
Your coach will assist you in holding your team accountable. Jameson helps you define each person’s responsibilities so you and your team can hold each other accountable. We also want the responsibilities to be clearly defined showing your leadership in the practice. This is very beneficial when cross-training your team so your team never has to miss a beat.
I have never had a coach and I am unsure of how to approach my team about this.
We always suggest having everyone on team do the 25 systems rating (links to a form request for this), then combining all answers so it’s clear what areas the team thinks need improvement. This may even be different from what the doctor may anticipate.
