A note from one UK practice about their Jameson coach...

I first met Flo in the very early stages of our Jameson training when we, as a practice, went to visit Cherrybank to observe the team at work and to see how the Jameson teachings worked on a day-to-day basis. Flo made us very welcome and we all gained a lot from that visit.

As a private practice, we offered a basic perio programme to our patients. It was good; certainly better than in other practices I had worked in, but it was not outstanding. There was no consistency and it had no structure to it.

Now, 14 months later, we have just completed our Hygiene Two consult, and things within the practice couldn’t be more different than they were when we first met.

Our Hygiene One module took place in September 2006. Those two days turned my working life completely upside down! I would be lying if I said that I didn’t start the first of the two consult days with more than a little trepidation. It would also be less than truthful to say that I slept well that night! Day two was equally challenging and I arrived home that evening mentally and physically drained, BUT inside there were little sparks burning…!

As a practice, with Flo’s help, we have put in place the protocol for an efficient and profitable perio programme that means we get it right every time! We now have a structured set of appointments. We are able to utilize our computer hardware and software to both our advantage and to our patients’ advantage, especially in terms of motivation, education, and instilling the sense of value. Jameson has helped us develop our own literature to help us to educate our patients and empower us with the right verbal skills to communicate the importance of improving/maintaining their own perio health and taking responsibility for their own periodontal destiny!

Our Jameson coach has helped us achieve this through a lot of hard work on her part. During our consults, she has shown us respect, enthusiasm, knowledge and a great deal of tact and diplomacy. She has guided us as a team on not just aspects of hygiene, but on communication and general team building issues.

On a more personal level, Flo has helped me become the hygienist I always knew I could be, and with her mentoring and support, will continue to be.
